Just two weeks from the end of the annual Bike challenge, Mike Saran embarked on a new adventure. This time, we decided to explore the Cetina river, from its source to its mouth.
On the first day, Mike Saran and Marko Kovač, a professional kayaker and adventurer, cycled 102 km starting from Omiš, Punta Rata, the mouth of the Cetina River into the Adriatic Sea, all the way to the source of the river near Vrlika. The hottest day of the year brought temperatures of 41 degrees Celsius and thus made this day very demanding and a new challenge.
Over the next two days, team experiences several different activities for going down the Cetina river. They started with packrafts from the source of Cetina, which they exchanged for kayaks on several occasions. By crossing over all the dams on the river, on the last day of the challenge, the team tried canyoning and rope repeling from a height of 60m into the Cetina canyon. The third day of the challenge included more than 12 hours of different activities. Our adventurers reached their starting point in Omiš, the mouth of Cetina, very late that night. This challenge truly showed how Dalmatia, with its natural beauty, offers a variety of opportunities for active vacations, exploring nature and local towns in Dalmatian Hinderland.
